Engie in India is seeking a Project Execution professional to manage end-to-end transmission line works from survey to commissioning, including coordination with EPC contractors, consultants, vendors and internal teams at project sites across PAN India.

The role covers site construction, contractor management, ROW and regulatory coordination, safety and quality assurance, testing and commissioning, with emphasis on meeting schedules and ensuring safe, compliant handover to Operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (preferred).
  • 7–12 years of relevant experience for Assistant/Deputy Manager tracks.
  • Experience with STU/CTU coordination and utilities desirable.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

Project Execution


  • Manage end-to-end execution of transmission line works from survey to commissioning.
  • Monitor foundation works, tower erection, stringing, OPGW installation, and line charging activities.
  • Ensure alignment of transmission line completion with overall project commissioning schedules.
  • Coordinate with EPC contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Site Construction & Contractor Management


  • Supervise construction activities and ensure resource availability.
  • Monitor contractor performance, construction progress, and productivity.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation measures.

ROW & Regulatory Coordination


  • Support Right of Way (ROW) acquisition and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate approvals and clearances with local authorities, STU/CTU, highways, railways, and other agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with utility and statutory requirements.

Quality & Safety


  • Ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, IS/IEC standards, and utility requirements.
  • Conduct inspections for foundations, tower erection, stringing, earthing, and associated works.
  • Enforce HSE requirements and ensure safe execution of all transmission line activities.
  • Support safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.

Testing & Commissioning


  • Coordinate testing, line charging, and commissioning activities.
  • Liaise with utilities for inspections and commissioning approvals.
  • Ensure successful handover to Operations & Maintenance teams.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Strong knowledge of transmission line construction (33 kV400 kV and above).
  • Experience in tower erection, stringing, OPGW installation, and commissioning.
  • Understanding of CEA regulations, utility requirements, and industry standards.
  • Strong contractor management, planning, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and project reporting tools.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (preferred).
  • Assistant Manager: 7–8 years of relevant experience.
  • Deputy Manager: 8–12 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in renewable energy evacuation systems and utility‑scale transmission projects will be preferred.
  • Exposure to STU/CTU coordination and transmission line commissioning is desirable.

  • Successful ROW and statutory clearance management.
  • Compliance with safety and quality requirements.
  • Timely transmission line charging and grid connectivity.
  • Effective contractor performance and project progress management.
