Job summary

Abate AS in Kerala, India seeks a patient counsellor to advise on eye surgeries, explain procedures and costs, and coordinate with doctors and hospital teams to ensure a smooth patient experience.

You will follow up on surgery dates, manage consent and documentation, maintain records, protect confidentiality, and help patients navigate charges and payment options while meeting counselling and booking targets.

Responsibilities

• Counsel patients regarding recommended surgeries, including cataract and retinal procedures.
• Explain the surgery process, benefits, risks, preparation, and post-operative care as per the doctor's advice.
• Explain surgery packages, charges, payment options, and other related expenses accurately.
• Address patient and family concerns and clarify their doubts professionally.
• Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, ward, OT, and billing teams for surgery scheduling and preparation.
• Follow up with patients to confirm surgery dates and support the completion of necessary formalities.
• Maintain accurate patient counselling records, surgery bookings, and follow-up details.
• Support patients in completing consent forms and other documentation as per hospital procedures and the treating doctor's instructions.
• Ensure timely communication regarding surgery schedules and any changes.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and deliver courteous, patient-focused service.
• Follow up with patients who have not confirmed their surgery and understand the reasons for postponement or cancellation.
• Achieve assigned counselling, conversion, and surgery-booking targets while maintaining ethical practices.
