Job summary

Welspun Living Limited in Hyderabad, India, is seeking an Instrumentation Engineer to ensure reliable operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of instrumentation and automation systems in the Flooring manufacturing plant. The role focuses on minimizing downtime, maintaining process control and supporting production with effective troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing.
• Experience in instrumentation, PLC, HMI, SCADA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot PLC HMI SCADA sensors transmitters control valves VFDs and field instruments.
• Conduct preventive and breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Ensure proper calibration and functioning of critical process instruments to support production efficiency.
• Monitor and maintain critical process parameters to facilitate smooth and uninterrupted production operations.
• Attend to instrumentation-related breakdowns promptly to ensure minimal machine downtime and operational disruption.
• Provide technical support to the Production team during machine startup, changeover and process-related issues.
• Support the installation, commissioning and modification of new machines and automation systems to enhance production capabilities.
• Coordinate with Production, Electrical, Mechanical and Quality teams to address troubleshooting and improvement activities effectively.
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules, calibration records, breakdown reports and equipment history for accurate documentation and analysis.
• Ensure the availability and proper management of critical instrumentation spares to prevent operational delays.
• Identify and implement opportunities for automation, productivity, energy efficiency and machine reliability improvements.
• Coordinate with OEMs and external agencies to obtain technical support and specialized maintenance services as needed.
• Ensure all activities comply with plant safety, quality and engineering standards to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.

Job Purpose/ Summary

To ensure reliable operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of instrumentation and automation systems in the Flooring manufacturing plant. The role will be responsible for minimizing equipment downtime, maintaining process control systems and supporting production through effective troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

Job Description

The Instrumentation Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting instrumentation and automation systems across the Flooring Division, including PLC, HMI, SCADA, sensors, transmitters, control valves, VFDs and other field instruments. The role will handle preventive and breakdown maintenance, calibration of instruments, monitoring of critical process parameters and quick resolution of equipment issues to minimize production downtime. The engineer will support production during machine start-ups, changeovers and process-related problems, coordinate with Production, Electrical, Mechanical and Quality teams, and support installation and commissioning of new equipment. The role will also be responsible for maintaining maintenance and calibration records, managing critical instrumentation spares, supporting automation and productivity improvement projects, and ensuring compliance with plant safety and engineering standards. Experience in textile, flooring, polymer, plastics or process manufacturing will be preferred.
