Job summary

Birla Carbon in Maharashtra seeks an Instrumentation Maintenance lead with 8–12 years in construction and manufacturing, including 2–3 years in large greenfield projects. You will maintain plant instruments, weighing and packing equipment, QC tools, NDT devices, and the plant's communication systems to ensure reliable operation.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Instrumentation engineering.
• 8–12 years in construction/manufacturing plant environments.

• Willing to travel to project sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain plant process and utility instruments and systems for reliable operation.
• Maintain weighing, packing, QC, safety and NDT instruments.
• Enforce safety rules and issue work permits as required.
• Maintain communication systems and TV network across sites.
• Supervise preventive, predictive, shutdown and breakdown maintenance; support installation & commissioning.

Job description

Job Purpose

To execute the maintenance of instrumentation system of plant, Quality control, NDT, Safety, finished product Storage, Weighing & Packing and Communication system to provide consistent and reliable measurement & control and communication to user departments

Instrument department role is to maintain various instruments / equipment's used for measuring / monitoring and controlling various processes / systems parameters to function within specified accuracy limit without any interruption / failure. Any failure in critical instruments systems/ equipment's may lead to either plant stoppage / production loss or operational inconvenience / qualityloss. We have distributed controlsystems for plantoperational parameters monitoring and auto control. Finished product weighing and packing machines maintenance is very important from customer complaint point of view. Maintenance of Plant to colony communication and TV network in staff and worker both the colonies is also under scope of department. Major Challenges: To maintain communication system to achieve perfect communication between plant and colony due to distant locations. To maintain product weighing and packing system to meet increased stringent quality demand from customer. To maintain plant process and utility instruments / equipment's / system for trouble free and reliable operation.

Accountabilities

• Maintenance of Plant Instruments: To maintain plant process and utility instruments / equipment's / system for trouble free and reliable operation
• Maintenance of Weighing, Packing and other Instruments: To maintain weighing & packing equipment's, Q/C, Safety and NDT instruments and card punching systems for trouble free operation.
• Safety: Safety rules compliance by the people on their jobs for their safety
• Communication System: To maintain communication system and TV network for trouble free and reliable operation.
• Supervising preventive, predictive, shut-down and break-down maintenance. Problem troubleshooting under guidance from HOD. Supervision of new system erection and commissioning and old system modification
• Get safety work permit issued Control people to follow safety rules. Control people to use appropriate safety appliances. Guide and supervise people for safety during job execution.
• Supervise preventive, predictive, shut-down and break down maintenance jobs. Performance monitoring after maintenance
• Supervise preventive, predictive, shut-down and break down maintenance jobs. Performance monitoring after maintenance. Supervision of modification jobs / new system installation / commissioning. To maintain the Calibration records Up to Date Supervising the Calibration activities.

Education: B.E./B.Tech in Instrumentation

Experience: 8–12 years in Construction Management, Manufacturing Plant with at least 2–3 years in greenfield/large-scale industrial project environments.
