Job summary

Prasara Innotech in Bengaluru is seeking a proactive Supply Chain Manager to oversee procurement, inventory, and logistics for modular kitchen production.

You will coordinate with suppliers, manage material flow, plan production, and drive cost-saving initiatives while ensuring quality and timely deliveries. A strong track record in supplier management and ERP systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mitigate supply chain risks and develop contingency plans.

Job description

1. Procurement & Supplier Management:

• Identify, negotiate, and maintain relationships with suppliers of raw materials, hardware, and finished goods used in modular kitchen manufacturing.
• Ensure the timely procurement of high-quality materials such as wood, laminates, countertops, hardware, and fittings.
• Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality standards, cost-efficiency, and delivery schedules.
• Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing and payment terms.

2. Inventory Management:

• Oversee inventory levels of raw materials and finished products to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained.
• Implement inventory control systems to avoid shortages or excess stock, using inventory management software.
• Ensure that materials are stored properly to avoid damage and maintain quality.
• Develop demand forecasts and supply plans in collaboration with the sales and production teams.

3. Logistics & Distribution:

• Manage the transportation and delivery of materials from suppliers to the manufacturing unit and finished products to customers.
• Coordinate with logistics partners for cost-effective and timely delivery of goods to franchisees, showrooms, and end customers.
• Optimize transportation routes and logistics strategies to minimize costs and delivery times.
• Ensure all necessary documentation (invoices, delivery notes, shipping forms) are accurate and in compliance with regulations.

4. Production Planning & Coordination:

• Work closely with the production team to align the supply of materials with the production schedule.
• Monitor production timelines and ensure that all required materials are available at the right time to avoid delays.
• Identify potential bottlenecks in the supply chain that could disrupt production and address them proactively.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure smooth execution of customized orders and projects.

5. Vendor Quality Control:

• Implement quality control measures to ensure that all supplied materials meet the required standards for modular kitchen production.
• Inspect and test incoming raw materials to verify their quality before they are used in production.
• Address any quality issues with vendors and ensure corrective actions are taken to maintain high-quality standards.

6. Cost Management & Budgeting:

• Manage the supply chain budget by controlling procurement, inventory, and logistics costs.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities within the supply chain without compromising quality.
• Work with the finance department to analyze expenses and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.

7. Technology & Systems Implementation:

• Use supply chain management software (e.g., ERP systems) to track materials, inventory, and shipments in real-time.
• Implement new technologies and tools to improve supply chain efficiency, such as automation in inventory management or demand forecasting.
• Regularly update and maintain records of all procurement, inventory, and logistics activities for future audits or reviews.

8. Compliance & Sustainability:

• Ensure that the supply chain adheres to all local, national, and international regulations regarding materials sourcing, transportation, and labor.
• Implement sustainable sourcing practices, such as using eco-friendly materials or reducing carbon emissions in transportation.
• Ensure the safe and compliant handling of materials, particularly hazardous or perishable goods.

9. Problem Solving & Risk Management:

• Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain, such as supplier delays, inventory shortages, or logistic disruptions.
• Develop contingency plans to handle unforeseen events, such as supplier failure or transportation breakdowns.
• Resolve any supply chain-related issues promptly to prevent delays in production or customer dissatisfaction.

10. Team Management & Collaboration:

• Lead and manage a team of procurement officers, warehouse staff, and logistics coordinators.
• Collaborate closely with other departments such as sales, production, and finance to ensure the supply chain is aligned with overall business goals.
• Provide training and development opportunities to supply chain team members to improve their skills and efficiency.
