Job summary

Nordex Group in Chennai, India, seeks a Supplier Quality and Development Specialist-Mechanics to support global SQA in supplier selection, qualification, and process improvements for Electrics components such as drives and gearboxes.

The role requires a mechanical engineering background, 10 years of experience, familiarity with APQP, QASL, LPA, and strong English, with willingness to travel; proficiency in SAP/MS Office/Power BI is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in similar roles.
• Knowledge of quality management methods (Ishikawa, FMEA, 8D).
• Training in ISO9001, 14001, 45001 and VDA 6.3.
• Convincing demeanor with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Proficient in SAP, MS Office and Power BI.
• Knowledge of APQP for Wind, QASL, LPA, FTR.
• Excellent English language skills.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Support SQA through supplier selection and qualification for Electrics material group.
• Audit suppliers, define actions for system, process, product, and control plans.
• Track audit findings and evaluate action effectiveness.
• Plan supplier/product qualification and approval for Electrics.
• Support prototype inspections and SAT planning.
• Assist first article inspections and track deviations.
• Drive supplier quality transformation projects (Ex QASL, LPA).
• Support nonconformity and claims processes with suppliers.
• Monitor supplier process control and performance via KPI.
• Report supplier status to global SQA regularly.

Supplier Quality & Development Specialist-Mechanics

Job Description

Support global Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) with the supplier selection and qualification process for the material group Electrics (Drives, Gearbox , Hydraulic systems, Cooling systems, Brakes & Coupling Etc...)

Assess and audit supplier and definition of actions (system, process , product and control plan )

Tracking of audit findings and evaluate the efficiency of actions.

Planning supplier / product qualification and approval process for the material group Electrics.

Support and execution of prototype inspections and Planning SAT.

Support and execution of first article inspections.

Definition and tracking of actions for prototype and first article deviations.

Effectively implementation supplier Quality transformation projects Ex QASL, LPA.

Support nonconformity and claim process and agreement on actions with the supplier.

Monitor supplier process control and supplier performance with the use of KPI´s

Reporting supplier performance status to global SQA on a regular basis.

Your Profile

Technical background with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.

• Min 10 years of professional experience in comparable positions
• Knowledge of quality management methods (e.g., Ishikawa, FMEA, 8D)
• Training in quality management 9001,14001,45001, VDA 6.3 (e.g., TÜV, Bureau Veritas)
• Convincing manner towards external and internal parties
• Ability to work in teams and excellent communication skills
• SAP and MS Office , Power BI skills preferably.
• Knowledge on APQP / APQP for Wind, QASL, LPA, FTR
• Excellent English language skills
• Willingness to travel
