Responsibilities

• Supervise daily machine shop activities and meet production targets.
• Monitor output against standard cycle times and optimize utilization.
• Verify machines and monitor parameters, oil, coolant, water, air levels.
• Support CNC programming, setup, and troubleshooting as needed.
• Coordinate planning, maintenance, quality, and tooling for smooth flow.
• Drive Kaizen initiatives to reduce cycle time and downtime.
• Allocate work, ensure attendance, coach operators, and foster teamwork.
• Maintain housekeeping and workplace organization per 5S/6S standards.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations

• Supervise daily machine shop activities and ensure achievement of production targets.
• Monitor production output against standard cycle times.
• Ensure optimum machine utilization and minimize downtime.
• Verify machine conditions before commencement of production activities.
• Monitor and control machine parameters including oil, coolant, water, and air pressure levels as per standard requirements.
• Support CNC programming, machine setup, and troubleshooting activities.
• Coordinate with planning, maintenance, quality, and tooling departments for smooth production flow.

Tooling & Process Improvement

• Support tool design and tooling development activities.
• Analyze machining problems and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive continual improvement initiatives (Kaizen) focused on cycle time reduction, productivity enhancement, and downtime reduction.
• Monitor process efficiency and recommend improvements.

  Manpower Management

  • Allocate work effectively among operators and technicians.
  • Ensure discipline, attendance, and productivity of shop floor personnel.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to operators.
  • Develop teamwork and promote a positive work culture.

  Housekeeping & Maintenance

  • Monitor daily machine cleaning activities.
  • Maintain housekeeping and 2S standards around production cells.
  • Ensure implementation and monitoring of 1S, 2S, and workplace organization activities as per checklists.
  • Ensure cleaning of indexing tables, guideways, machine tables, and sliding components for smooth machine functioning.
  • Verify machine cleaning during shifts and before shift handover.
