Job summary

TeamLease in Tamil Nadu is seeking a Production Technician to manage machine output and ensure adherence to work orders. The role covers autonomous maintenance, quality checks, and safety, with emphasis on reducing downtime and improving process efficiency.

You will read drawings and work instructions, set up changes on time, and contribute to Kaizen and CPC initiatives while coordinating with maintenance to minimize interruptions on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ITI in a relevant manufacturing trade.
• Ability to read drawings and work instructions.
• Knowledge of measurement tools: micrometer, vernier, height gauge, profile projector.
• Capability to develop CNC programs for new products.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quantity and quality output from machines.
• Execute work orders as planned and organize materials.
• Maintain downtime logs and analyze reasons for targets not met.
• Complete setup changes within defined time.
• Handle internal rejects and participate in CAPA.
• Maintain 5S in the cell and coordinate with maintenance for breakdowns.
• Support productivity gains via Kaizen, cycle time reduction, CPC.
• Perform autonomous maintenance on assigned machines.
• Ensure safety, quality, cost, and delivery for the line.
• Carry out quality inspections and maintain records per procedures.
• Stop the assembly line if machinery fails or a major defect is detected.

Role & responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

• 1.Should be responsible for the quantity & quality of output produced in the machines.
• 2.Ensuring work order execution as planned (Work order release in PDM / Material organise for work order/ Work order time entry and closing).
• 3.Daily maintain the down time log note and analysiss the down time for not meeting target.
• 4.Setup change completion as per the defined time.
• 5.Internal rejection disposition and involve preparation CAPA.
• 6.Maintain the 5s in respective cell and co-ordinate with maintenance for machine break down.
• 7.Achieve the productivity savings through Kaizen Event / Cycle time reduction/Consumable cost reduction (CPC).
• 8.Carried out the Autonomous maintenance in their machines
• 9. Responsible for the Safety/Quality/Cost/Delivery of their MY MACHINE
• 10. Responsible for Carried out the quality inspection and maintain the quality record as per inspection procedure
• 11.Stopping the assembly line and halting production if machinery fails or a major defect is detected.

Machining:

• 1. Knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols and regulations
• 2. Should have basic knowledge on selecting Tool Holders, cutting tools, Inserts, Cutting parameters.
• 3. Should be able to read and understand Drawings, Work instructions.
• 4. 4.Should have knowledge and skill of using measurement instruments like Micrometre, Vernier Calliper, Height gauge, Profile projector
• 5. Should be able to develop the CNC program for the new product in CNC Machines.
• 6. Should have knowledge on 5S and Safety.
