Job summary

PeopleStrong in India seeks an experienced Store & Inventory Controller to manage receipt, inspection, storage, issue and return of project materials. You will ensure proper identification, storage, preservation and housekeeping to prevent loss and damage.

Timely availability of materials supports uninterrupted construction activities. You will coordinate with procurement, logistics, QA and site teams, reconcile stock with system balances, and support SAP transactions such as GRN, GI and stock

Qualifications

  • Experience in receiving, inspecting, storing and issuing materials.
  • Ability to reconcile inventories with system balances and audits.
  • Coordination with procurement, quality, logistics, and project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage receipt, inspection, storage, preservation, issue and return of project materials.
  • Maintain optimum inventory levels and ensure timely material availability.
  • Coordinate with procurement, QA, logistics and construction teams for material acceptance and discrepancies.
  • Support SAP transactions related to GRN, GI, and stock adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with storage, safety and housekeeping standards at sites.

Job Description

Store & Inventory ManagementManage the receipt, inspection, storage, preservation, issue, transfer, and return of all project materials, equipment, tools, and consumables in accordance with project procedures.Ensure proper identification, storage conditions, preservation, and housekeeping of materials to prevent damage, deterioration, or loss.Maintain optimum inventory levels and ensure timely availability of materials to support uninterrupted construction activities.Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile inventory records with system balances.Material Receipt & IssueVerify incoming materials against Purchase Orders, delivery challans, packing lists, and inspection documents before acceptance.Coordinate with Quality, Procurement, Logistics, and Construction teams for material inspection, acceptance, rejection, and discrepancy resolution.Issue materials to site execution teams against authorized Material Issue Slips (MIS) or approved requisitions while ensuring complete traceability.Monitor and control material returns, surplus materials, scrap, and reusable items.Project Coordination SupportCoordinate with Procurement, Logistics, Planning, Construction, and Project Management teams to ensure timely receipt and availability of project materials.Monitor material delivery schedules and highlight potential shortages or delays that may impact project execution.Support Package Engineers and Project Management by providing material availability status and inventory reports for planning and execution.Coordinate with Finance for material reconciliation and support SAP transactions related to Goods Receipt (GRN), Goods Issue (GI), Material Transfer, and stock adjustments, as applicable.Vendor & Contractor Interface SupportCoordinate with suppliers, transporters, and subcontractors for material receipt, unloading, storage, and documentation.Ensure timely reporting and resolution of shortages, transit damages, and non-conforming materials in coordination with Procurement and Quality teams.Maintain complete records of vendor deliveries, material acknowledgements, and pending material receipts.Compliance & Audit SupportEnsure compliance with company policies, project procedures, inventory control standards, and statutory requirements related to material storage and handling.Maintain accurate inventory records and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.Support project material reconciliation, surplus material identification, disposal activities, and final project close-out documentation.Ensure compliance with HSE requirements for safe storage, handling, preservation, and movement of materials within the site stores.
