Job summary

Primo Automation Systems in Chennai district, Tamil Nadu, seeks a Stores/Materials Controller to manage incoming materials, inspect quality and quantities, and maintain accurate stock records. You will issue materials to production and coordinate with purchasing, quality, and accounts to ensure timely replenishment, safe storage, and proper documentation.

The role emphasizes adherence to FIFO/FEFO processes, 5S housekeeping, and efficient stock reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in receiving and inspecting materials against POs, invoices and delivery notes.
• Ability to maintain accurate stock records and perform stock verification.
• Knowledge of FIFO/FEFO practices and 5S housekeeping in stores.

Responsibilities

• Receive and verify incoming materials against purchase orders, invoices, and delivery documents.
• Conduct physical inspection and quantity verification of materials received.
• Prepare and maintain GRN (Goods Receipt Note) and other store-related documents.
• Store, label, and arrange materials for easy identification and retrieval.
• Issue materials to Production, Assembly, Maintenance, and other departments as per authorized requirements.
• Maintain accurate stock records and inventory levels.
• Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and inform the concerned department for replenishment.
• Periodic physical stock verification and reconciliation.
• Maintain records for inward, outward, transfer, and return materials.
• Handle ERP/SAP/Inventory Management System for stock transactions and documentation.
• Coordinate with Purchase, Production, Quality, and Accounts departments for material-related activities.
• Identify and report shortage, excess, damaged, or obsolete materials.
• Ensure FIFO/FEFO practices wherever applicable.
• Maintain 5S, housekeeping, and safety in the stores area.
• Ensure materials are stored safely to prevent damage, loss, or deterioration.
• Prepare and maintain daily/monthly stock reports and inventory reports.
• Support stock audits and internal/external inspections.
• Follow company procedures related to material handling, safety, and inventory control.
