Job summary

Inspirisys is seeking a Tape Library Support Engineer to provide on-site support for tape library and storage infrastructure, with hands-on experience in Oracle StorageTek SL8500 and related technologies.

The role covers monitoring, troubleshooting, inventory management, and coordination with OEM/vendor and Storage/Backup teams to ensure incident resolution and SLA compliance. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience is required for this on-site position in India.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Oracle StorageTek SL8500/SL3000/SL500.
• Experience with LTO tape libraries and ACSLS.
• Familiarity with SAN/Fibre Channel and enterprise backup environments.
• Experience with backup software such as NetBackup, IBM TSM, Spectrum Protect or Commvault is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting and data-center support skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot Oracle StorageTek SL8500 Tape Library, tape drives, robotics, CAPs and cartridges.
• Handle tape cartridge inventory, loading/unloading and media management.
• Troubleshoot tape drive, robotics, media and FC/SAN connectivity issues.
• Perform daily health checks, preventive maintenance and library housekeeping.
• Coordinate with OEM/vendor, Storage and Backup teams for incident resolution.
• Maintain incident tickets, daily reports and SLA compliance.
