Job Summary

We are looking for a Storage & Backup Support Engineer to monitor, manage and troubleshoot enterprise storage and backup environments. The role involves L1/L2 incident handling, storage and backup monitoring, backup/restore operations, capacity management, troubleshooting and coordination with L2/L3 teams and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

Provide L1/L2 support for enterprise storage and backup infrastructure.
Monitor SAN/NAS, storage capacity, LUNs, volumes and disk utilization.
Monitor backup jobs, alerts and schedules and troubleshoot backup failures.
Perform backup and restore operations as per approved procedures.
Troubleshoot storage connectivity, disk/volume and multipathing issues.
Monitor storage health, capacity and performance and identify potential issues.
Perform basic LUN provisioning/expansion and storage-related activities as per change procedures.
Work with backup platforms such as Veeam, NetBackup, Commvault or equivalent.
Review logs and alerts to identify the cause of storage and backup incidents.
Handle incident, service request and change management activities.
Perform initial RCA/troubleshooting and upscale complex issues to L2/L3 or vendors.
Coordinate with server, network, application, storage and backup teams for issue resolution.
Maintain SOPs, operational documentation and ticket updates.
Follow defined backup, recovery, escalation and change-management procedures.
