Job Description
The Staff Nurse is responsible for delivering safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care, monitoring patients, administering prescribed treatments, maintaining clinical documentation, and coordinating with the healthcare team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized nursing care based on patient needs.
- Monitor vital signs and changes in patient condition.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures and examinations.
- Maintain complete and accurate nursing documentation.
- Prepare patients for investigations and procedures.
- Monitor treatment outcomes and promptly report abnormalities.
- Assist in emergency response and resuscitation activities.
- Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Provide health education to patients and caregivers.
- Maintain infection-prevention and patient-safety standards.
- Participate in nursing rounds and shift handovers.
- Ensure proper availability and handling of nursing supplies.
- Follow biomedical waste-management guidelines.
- Coordinate with doctors and allied healthcare professionals.
- Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Participate in clinical audits and quality-improvement initiatives.
- Support hospital accreditation and compliance requirements.
- Participate in continuing nursing education and staff training.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Nursing Incharge or Supervisor.
