Job Description

A Staff Nurse provides direct patient care and supports doctors and the healthcare team in maintaining safe and effective clinical services. The involves patient assessment, medication administration, monitoring, documentation, clinical procedures, patient education, and coordination of care according to professional scope and hospital protocols.

• Provide nursing care to patients according to their clinical requirements.
• Assess patients and monitor vital signs and general condition.
• Administer prescribed medicines, injections, IV fluids, and treatments within scope.
• Assist doctors during examinations, procedures, and clinical rounds.
• Monitor patients and promptly report changes in condition.
• Perform wound care, dressing, catheter care, and other assigned nursing procedures.
• Maintain patient hygiene, comfort, positioning, and mobility.
• Prepare patients for investigations, procedures, surgery, and treatment.
• Maintain accurate nursing notes and patient-care documentation.
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
• Provide appropriate patient and attendant education.
• Coordinate with laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, dietary, and other departments.
• Follow infection prevention and aseptic techniques.
• Respond to emergencies and assist with resuscitation activities within scope.
• Maintain nursing equipment, supplies, and patient-care areas.
• Participate in shift handovers and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and professional conduct.
• Follow hospital policies, nursing standards, SOPs, and patient-safety requirements.
