Job Description
A Staff Nurse is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to patients across assigned clinical areas. The includes patient assessment, medication administration, monitoring, documentation, patient education, and coordination with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Assess patients and monitor clinical condition.
- Record vital signs and nursing observations.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Assist doctors during examinations and procedures.
- Perform nursing procedures according to established standards.
- Monitor patient response to treatment and report abnormalities.
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation and records.
- Provide patient comfort, hygiene, and supportive care.
- Coordinate care with doctors and allied healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding treatment and care plans.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Follow infection-control and medication-safety practices.
- Support emergency and resuscitation activities.
- Maintain nursing equipment and supplies.
- Participate in shift handovers and multidisciplinary communication.
- Monitor patient safety and quality-of-care indicators.
- Participate in audits, training, and continuing education.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct.
- Follow hospital nursing SOPs and policies.
