Job Description
A Deputy Clinical Nurse - Nursing is responsible for supporting nursing leadership in coordinating patient-care activities, supervising nursing staff, ensuring compliance with clinical standards, and maintaining quality nursing services within the assigned department. The assists in staff management, patient-safety initiatives, clinical monitoring, documentation review, and coordination with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Assist in supervising daily nursing operations within the assigned department.
- Support implementation of nursing policies, protocols, and clinical standards.
- Coordinate nursing staff allocation and duty assignments.
- Monitor the quality and continuity of patient care.
- Support patient assessment, care planning, and nursing interventions as required.
- Ensure timely administration of prescribed medications and treatments.
- Review nursing documentation, records, and patient-care reports for accuracy.
- Monitor compliance with infection-prevention and patient-safety practices.
- Assist in resolving nursing-related patient and attendant concerns.
- Coordinate with doctors and multidisciplinary healthcare teams regarding patient care.
- Support nursing staff during complex clinical situations and emergencies.
- Monitor availability of nursing supplies, equipment, and consumables.
- Participate in clinical rounds, patient reviews, and departmental meetings.
- Assist with orientation, training, and competency development of nursing staff.
- Monitor adherence to nursing SOPs, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support audits, accreditation activities, and quality-improvement initiatives.
- Assist in incident reporting, investigation, and corrective-action implementation.
- Participate in staff performance monitoring and feedback activities.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information.
- Follow hospital policies, nursing standards, and applicable healthcare regulations.
