Staff Engineer, PCIe ASIC Validation (Req. ID: JR96971)

Job Overview

Your role will focus on validating PCIe/LPDDR Controller + PHY IPs and SoC integrations throughout pre‑silicon and post‑silicon phases. The position requires deep knowledge of PCIe (Gen3/4/5/6) or LPDDR protocols, high‑speed I/O behavior, and robust validation methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Own PCIe/LPDDR validation activities across architecture, pre‑silicon board design, and post‑silicon testing.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Design, Firmware (FW), and board teams to identify firmware implementation details and plan/execute validation accordingly.
• Review SoC verification plans for PCIe/LPDDR subsystems and develop and understand PCIe/LPDDR validation plans in partnership with C, AE, and FW teams.
• Conduct processor‑based SoC verification and emulation using C/FW/AE workflows.
• Execute SOC‑based C simulations for test case understanding and debug using VCS.
• Participate in silicon bring‑up activities and support firmware bring‑up.
• Coordinate with overseas teams for PCIe/LPDDR bring‑up and debugging efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Detailed knowledge of PCIe/LPDDR standards (PCIe G5/G6 or LPDDR5 preferred).
• Experience with high‑speed serial protocols and SerDes PHY behavior.
• Strong understanding of PCIe / NVMe or LPDDR architecture.
• 14+ years of experience with processor‑centric SoC builds and hands‑on PCIe validation using C/FW tests.
• Hands‑on experience with LA, PCIe switches, PA, SE exerciser setups (Viavi, Lecroy), hardware and debug setups.
• Knowledge of industry‑standard interfaces such as ONFI, AXI (advantage).
• Debug and bring‑up experience with SNPS PCIe controller and PHY (advantage).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or TCL.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong teamwork, positive attitude, and professional demeanor.
