Job description

Staff Engineer, Modeling CFD Thermal Analysis

Location: Bangalore, India

Responsibilities

• Participate as a member of the engineering team in design and development of our product, for system and components from concept phase to production.
• Thermal management of the whole system/Data center for conceptual ventilation design evaluation and recommend changes to the design based on the modeling.
• Perform flow and thermal analysis, including rack, system enclosures and installations or our Energy Servers.
• Interface with cross functional team and conduct accurate CFD models.
• Utilize model prediction to evaluate design options and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Participate in validations of models through representative tests and support troubleshooting performance issues.
• Create reports and present modeling results on a regular basis.

Qualifications

• MS/ MTech in Mechanical Engineering with a background in applied CFD.
• Strong understanding of the fundamentals of Fluid Mechanics & Heat Transfer.
• 4-6 years of experience in an engineering company supporting product development.
• At least 3-5 years in engineering CFD software packages such as ANSYS Icepak, Cadence, CoolSim, FloTherm.
• Ansys Icepak modeling experience in thermal analysis of the electronic system & ventilation is desirable.
• Experience in Data Center thermal management is a plus.
• Ability to develop & validate thermal models of high-density electronic assemblies, battery pack, and complete system.
• Ability to evaluate and optimize airflow, heat dissipation & temperature distribution to improve cooling performance.
• Proficiency in building CFD models of the whole system / site / data center for conceptual ventilation design evaluation & recommend changes to the design based on the modeling.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks for mechanical design.
• Ability to learn new application areas and capable of modeling complex simulations and multi-disciplinary systems.
• Strong drive for results and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills.
