Job summary

ITC in Pune seeks a full-time Mechanical Project Engineer to drive planning and execution of multi-disciplinary packages. You will coordinate with architects, consultants and the Contracts team, review drawings, manage BOQs and ensure timely cash-flow planning.

The role covers site supervision, vendor interaction, safety practices and budgeting for utilities like HVAC, plumbing and boiler. You will monitor progress, drive corrective actions, and uphold project milestones.

Qualifications

• UGC/AICTE approved B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Project engineering and management techniques are desirable.
• Planning and coordination skills for multi-disciplinary packages.
• Basic design, installation and commissioning of utilities (HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, boiler, pumps, effluent treatment).
• Broad knowledge of design parameters and budgeting basics.
• Familiarity with relevant statutory requirements and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with architects/consultants to finalize layouts and drawings; prepare domain work packages.
• Review drawings, monitor consultants and PMCs; ensure timely corrective actions.
• Manage day-to-day site work for domain engineering as per plan; review reports.
• Forecast work quantities, collaborate on BOQs, tenders and contracts; coordinate with contracts & purchase.
• Monitor milestones, approve first-level sign-off on measurement sheets and payments.

Role & Responsibilities

Project Planning

• Co-ordinate with architects / consultants to finalize layouts and statutory drawings
• Submit schedule of domain engineering work packages (mechanical/ civil / electrical domain)
• Evaluate BOQ / tender drawings submitted by consultants
• Prepare and review Level 3 plans for domain engineering work packages

Project Execution and Monitoring

• Review and ensure availability of correct, consistent and comprehensive drawings and specification with the contractor
• Monitor the delivery and work quality of consultants, PMCs. Drive efficiency, review periodically, elevate issues and ensure corrective actions
• Responsible for day-to-day site work of domain engineering as per plan
• Review weekly & monthly reports of package assigned, escape issues and drive corrective actions

Budgets, tendering & contracting

• Forecast the amount of work to be executed and hence plan the cash flows
• Collaborate and co-ordinate with Contracts & Purchase Team for BOQs, tenders and contracts related issue

Vendor Management & Payables:

• Monitor milestones against project plan
• Review and approve first-level sign off on the measurement sheets, payments

Preferred candidate Profile:

• Full-Time B.E / B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from an institute/University recognized by UGC/AICTE
• Project engineering & management techniques
• Basic design, installation & commissioning of utilities like - HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, boiler, compressor, pumps, sewage / effluent treatment plant
