Qualifications

• Masters Degree / MBA is required.
• 10+ years of procurement and supplier management experience.
• Experience in biopharma is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Procurement of materials and services: identify, evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, price and delivery.
• Inventory management: monitor stock levels and coordinate with warehouse for timely receipt and inspection of items.
• Purchase documentation: maintain purchase orders, contracts, and invoices in compliance with policies.
• Cost control: negotiate prices and keep purchases within budget.
• Market research: track market trends and potential suppliers to optimize cost.
• Reporting: prepare periodic reports on procurement activities and supplier performance for management.

About the Role

The Sr. Procurement Specialist/Manager will play a crucial role in managing procurement activities, supplier relationships, and inventory management to ensure the organization meets its operational needs efficiently.

Responsibilities

Procurement of Materials and Services:

• Identify and evaluate suppliers based on the quality, price, and delivery time of products.
• Issue purchase orders based on business needs and inventory levels.
• Ensure timely and accurate procurement of materials and services to meet organizational requirements.
• Establish and maintain relationships with existing suppliers, negotiating better rates and payment terms.
• Assess the performance of suppliers and ensure adherence to contract terms.
• Resolve any issues with suppliers related to quality, delivery, or payment.
• New supplier development and qualification.

Inventory Management:

• Monitor stock levels to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
• Work with the inventory team to ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained.
• Coordinate with warehouse department for the timely receipt and inspection of purchased items.

Purchase Documentation:

• Maintain proper documentation for all purchase activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and invoices.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and legal requirements.

Cost Control:

• Negotiate prices with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
• Ensure that purchased materials are within the allocated budget.

Market Research:

• Stay updated on market trends, product prices, and new suppliers in order to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Conduct regular research to find potential suppliers or alternative products that may be more cost-effective.

Reporting:

• Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost analysis for management review.
• Keep management informed about potential risks, such as delays in deliveries or price hikes.
• Work closely with other departments, such as finance, accounts, and production, to ensure smooth workflow and meet business needs.
• Communicate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and forecast future procurement needs.

Qualifications

Education: Masters Degree / MBA

10+ Years of experience in procurement and supplier management.

Preferred Skills

Experience in biopharma or related industries is a plus.
