Job summary

Biotech Vision Care in Ahmedabad is seeking a seasoned procurement professional to oversee project and capex purchases, ensuring material availability within lead times while upholding quality standards.

You will negotiate terms, optimize costs, manage supplier relationships, and ensure MDR/ISO13485 compliance across procurement activities. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the GM Projects & Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
• 10–12 years of expense management experience.
• Minimum 5 years in procurement for project and capex purchases.
• Experience in medical devices/pharma is preferred; ISO 13485/MDR knowledge desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage Project and Capex Purchases efficiently.
• Ensure timely availability of materials per user department requirements.
• Verify and execute URS and procure necessary items.
• Proficient in commercial terms including Incoterms and TT/LC payments.
• Identify cost savings through effective negotiation strategies.
• Develop secondary supplier sources wherever feasible.
• Adhere to SOPs and MDR guidelines; GMP/ISO13485 compliance.
• Track PRs and POs; provide updates via MIS and 12-week forecasts.
• Develop and execute payment plans aligned with company needs.
• Handle disputes and ensure timely resolution with internal/external stakeholders.
• Establish supplier agreements with MDR credential compliance.
• Identify automation opportunities in procurement processes.
• Maintain supplier reconciliations every six months.
• Develop Gantt charts for project execution and monitor progress.

Job description

Role Objective:

A key objective of this position is to overseeing and managing project purchases and capex purchases for our organization. The primary objective is to ensure the availability of materials within specified lead times, adhere to quality standards, and contribute to cost savings through effective negotiation and process improvements.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field with 10 to 12 years of experience in expense management, preferably in an international business environment.


• Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on project and capex purchases.


• Background in procurement, preferably in the medical device/pharma industry. Strong knowledge of commercial terms, negotiation skills, and familiarity with quality standards are essential. Experience with ISO 13485 and MDR guidelines is highly desirable.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Manage Project and Capex Purchases efficiently.


• Demonstrate knowledge of Medical Devices/Pharma Equipment and associated processes.


• Ensure timely availability of materials according to user department requirements.


• Verify and execute User Requirement Specifications (URS) and procure necessary items.


• Proficient in commercial terms, including Incoterms and various payment methods (TT, LC).


• Identify opportunities for cost savings through effective negotiation strategies.


• Develop and maintain a second source of supply for each material when feasible.


• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Medical Device Regulation (MDR) guidelines.


• Track open Purchase Requests (P.R) and Purchase Orders (P.O), ensuring timely closure and providing regular updates to management through MIS and 12 Week Rolling Forecasts.


• Develop and execute payment plans aligned with company requirements.


• Handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve queries with internal customers/vendors in a timely manner.


• Establish and maintain agreements with critical suppliers, ensuring compliance with credential certificates as per MDR guidelines.


• Identify and implement process automation opportunities.


• Ensure all activities and processes comply with audit and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, following ISO 13485.


• Manage open advances and conduct supplier reconciliations every six months.


• Develop Gantt charts for project execution and monitor progress regularly.
