Job Responsibility
Purchasing & Order Management
- Manage the procurement of pharmaceutical products based on forecasts and inventory needs.
- Place and track orders, ensuring accurate and timely deliveries.
- Approve purchase requisitions from departments.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to secure favourable terms.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and address supplier issues.
Inventory Management
- Monitor stock levels and initiate orders to avoid shortages/excess.
- Work with inventory teams to maintain optimal stock levels and expiration management.
Compliance & Regulatory Adherence
- Ensure purchased products comply with GMP, FDA, and other regulations.
- Maintain accurate purchase records in line with legal requirements.
Market Research & Analysis
- Stay updated on market trends, pricing, and new developments.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and evaluate supplier performance.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain purchase order records and submit regular reports on purchasing activities.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work with sales, marketing, and logistics to ensure timely product availability.
Skills
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Analytical abilities to assess trends and cost-saving opportunities.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical products and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Excel.
Experience
- Experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry (preferred): Previous experience in procurement, supply chain, or inventory management within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry is highly advantageous.
- Procurement Experience: At least 5-8 years of relevant experience in procurement, with experience in negotiating contracts, managing vendors, and handling procurement.
