Job summary

Fawia in Gurgaon seeks an experienced procurement professional to lead technical procurement for mechanical equipment and associated materials. You will review drawings and BOQs, source vendors, float RFQs, and negotiate terms to ensure timely delivery for high-value projects.

You will work closely with Engineering, Projects, Site, Stores, Accounts and Management to optimize cost and quality. The role requires 8–15 years in mechanical procurement, with a strong vendor network in EPC, Oil & Gas

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical materials, piping, valves, fittings, steel and industrial equipment.
• Ability to read and review technical drawings, BOQs, specifications and datasheets.
• Strong negotiation skills for prices, terms and delivery.
• Effective vendor development and management for EPC/oil & gas/industrial projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the complete technical procurement and purchasing function.
• Source and procure mechanical equipment, piping materials, valves, fittings, structural materials and cryogenic components.
• Review technical specs, BOQs, drawings and material requirements before procurement.
• Identify, evaluate, develop and manage reliable vendors and OEMs.
• Float RFQs and conduct technical and commercial evaluations of offers.
• Prepare comparative statements and recommend vendors based on compliance, quality, price and delivery.
• Negotiate prices, terms and delivery schedules; finalize POs with management.
• Ensure timely procurement as per project schedules and coordinate with Engineering, Projects, Site, Stores, Accounts and Management.
• Monitor vendor performance, delivery, quality and spec compliance; develop alternate vendors and cost-saving strategies.
• Maintain purchase records, vendor databases, comparative statements and procurement MIS.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the complete technical procurement and purchasing function.
• Source and procure mechanical equipment, piping materials, valves, fittings, structural materials, cryogenic components, and other project-related materials.
• Review technical specifications, BOQs, drawings, datasheets, and material requirements before procurement.
• Identify, evaluate, develop, and manage reliable vendors, manufacturers, and OEMs.
• Float RFQs and conduct technical as well as commercial evaluations of vendor offers.
• Prepare comparative statements and recommend suitable vendors based on technical compliance, quality, price, and delivery schedules.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial terms.
• Finalize purchase orders in coordination with management.
• Ensure timely procurement of materials as per project schedules and avoid delays in execution.
• Coordinate closely with Engineering, Projects, Site, Stores, Accounts, and Management teams.
• Monitor vendor performance, delivery commitments, material quality, and compliance with specifications.
• Develop alternate vendors and procurement strategies to achieve cost optimization.
• Maintain complete purchase records, vendor databases, comparative statements, POs, and procurement MIS.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of mechanical materials, piping, valves, fittings, steel, structural materials, and industrial equipment.
• Ability to understand and review technical drawings, BOQs, specifications, and datasheets.
• Strong technical and commercial negotiation skills.
• Good vendor network in the mechanical, industrial, and engineering sectors.
• Experience in project-based procurement and handling high-value purchases.
• Good communication, coordination, and team management skills.

Preferred Profile

Candidates having procurement experience in EPC, Oil & Gas, Industrial Gas, Cryogenic, Power, Steel, Fertilizer, Chemical, or Industrial Projects will be preferred
