Position: Sr. Manager – Purchase & Vendor Development

Location: Wada - Mumbai

Experience: 15 - 18 Years

Industries: Engineering

Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end purchase and vendor development activities for engineering/manufacturing requirements.
• Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for direct and indirect materials.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers based on quality, cost, capacity, and delivery capability.
• Handle technical sourcing, RFQ, techno-commercial evaluation, negotiation, and finalization of suppliers.
• Drive cost reduction through price negotiation, value engineering, localization, and alternate sourcing.
• Assess supplier capacity, capability, infrastructure, quality systems, and manufacturing processes.
• Conduct supplier visits and shopfloor assessments to evaluate production and process capabilities.
• Develop alternate/local suppliers to reduce dependency and improve supply continuity.
• Negotiate commercial terms, payment conditions, lead time, MOQ, and long-term supply agreements.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Production, and R&D teams for technical and sourcing requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance related to quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness.
• Drive supplier improvement, corrective actions, and development plans for critical vendors.
• Support new product development through supplier identification, localization, and component development.
• Maintain purchase MIS, supplier performance reports, cost-saving data, and sourcing documentation.
• Lead the Purchase & Vendor Development team and ensure timely material availability as per production requirements.
