Job summary

Vortex Engineering Works India is seeking a dynamic Junior Purchase Manager to lead sourcing, procurement, and supplier management for electromechanical components. The role requires strong coordination with design, production, and quality teams to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with at least 4 years of relevant experience in engineering manufacturing and ERP familiarity, preferably SAP B1.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in an engineering manufacturing setup, preferably dealing with electromechanical components.
• Technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical components used in electromechanical devices.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.

Responsibilities

• Source material and outsource processes for mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical components from vendors/sub-contractors.
• Evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and timely delivery.
• Manage vendor relationships and develop strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
• Raise purchase orders (POs) in ERP systems and ensure proper documentation and compliance with procurement policies.
• Track order status, coordinate logistics, and ensure on-time delivery of materials.
• Work closely with design, production, and quality teams to understand material specifications and requirements.
• Monitor inventory levels to avoid material shortages or overstocking.
• Analyze purchase data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement efficiency.
• Assist in supplier audits and vendor performance evaluations.
