Job summary

Prathamesh Consultants is seeking a Senior Engineer- Purchase in Pune to lead strategic sourcing and procurement activities. The role focuses on supplier management, cost control and material planning in a manufacturing context.

The candidate should have 6–8 years of experience in purchase, a mechanical engineering background, and be proficient with SAP MM and procurement processes to ensure uninterrupted supply and optimal costs.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering required.
• 6–8 years of experience in purchase/procurement.

Responsibilities

• Strategic sourcing, purchasing & procurement management.
• Supplier negotiation and vendor management.
• Purchase & costing of plastic raw materials, moulded parts, sheet metals and consumables.
• Purchase of maintenance spares and capital items.
• Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
• Supplier scheduling and ensuring uninterrupted material supply.
• Inventory & supply chain coordination.
• SAP MM- PR to PO process.
• Supplier performance monitoring—Quality, Cost & Delivery.
• Vendor development and new part development.
• Development of alternative local sources.
• MIS reporting and procurement documentation.
• Compliance with procurement procedures and IATF 16949 requirements.
