Job summary

Ajay Industrial Corporation (AICL) in India seeks a skilled engineer to drive New Product Development from concept through production, including prototype development, trials, testing and finalization of processes.

You will design and modify mechanical components, tools, dies, fixtures and production equipment to meet product requirements, while planning preventive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical systems and presses.

Responsibilities

• Handle New Product Development (NPD) from concept to production, including prototype development, trials, testing, and process finalization.
• Develop and modify mechanical components, tools, dies, fixtures, and production-related equipment as per product requirements.
• Handle prototype development and pilot production, ensuring the product meets design, quality, and functional requirements.
• Plan and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical machines and equipment.
• Handle maintenance of Press Shop machinery, welding machines, fabrication equipment, and other mechanical production machines.
• Ensure proper maintenance, repair, alignment, and smooth functioning of press machines, dies, tools, fixtures, and related equipment.
• Take responsibility for die maintenance, die repair, die modification, and die making as per production and product requirements.
• Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and identify the root cause of recurring machine problems.
• Coordinate with production and technical teams for machine installation, commissioning, trials, and process improvements.
• Support development and modification of jigs, fixtures, dies, tools, and other manufacturing aids.
• Monitor machine performance and ensure minimum downtime and maximum equipment availability.
• Maintain records of machine breakdowns, preventive maintenance, repairs, spare parts, and maintenance activities.
• Work closely with Production, Quality, Design, and other departments for new product development and process improvement.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in machines, tools, dies, and manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
• Ensure safe working practices and compliance with company safety procedures during maintenance, machine operation, die handling, and development activities.
• Manage multiple development and maintenance activities and ensure timely completion as per production requirements.
