Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited seeks an experienced engine calibration engineer to drive emission reduction and drivability improvements for CNG/LPG/Gasoline engines. You will work with cross-functional teams to finalize calibration plans, analyze data, and ensure robust engine performance across development stages.

Ideal candidates have 3–4 years in automotive calibration, hands-on INCA experience, and strong problem-solving and communication skills to support timely homologation and DVP

Qualifications

• BE or ME in engineering or related field.
• 3–4 years of experience in automotive engine calibration.
• Hands-on experience with SI engine calibration and INCA software.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate CNG/LPG/Gasoline engines focusing on emission development and drivability.
• Plan day-to-day calibration activities and maintain a project tracker.
• Liaise with Vehicle Integration, NVH, Electricals and Performance teams for targets.
• Perform root cause analysis using tools like Global 8D or equivalent.
• Contribute to engine DVP finalization and execution; support homologation trials.

Job description

• 'Responsible to meet the emission, mileage, driveability target of vehicle
• CNG/ LPG / Gasoline Engine Optimization involving activities like, steady state performance and emission development
• CNG/ LPG / Gasoline Vehicle calibration involving, vehicle emission development, vehicle calibration, drivability, environmental corrections, cold start and OBD
• Emission & Performance Robustness and homologation trials for engines type approval.
• Liason with CFT like Vehicle Integration, NVH, Electricals, Performance simulation, Engine development centre, Reliability and Service for engineering targets delivery.
• Analyse the issues arising out of test to confirm the design by root cause analysis of the problems / issues by using various problem solving techniques like Global 8D or other problem solving tools.
• To work with development engineer to finalise and execute the engine DVP.
• Plan for the day-today calibration activities and maintain a project tracker.
