Job summary

Mahindra And Mahindra Ltd. is seeking an experienced design engineer to lead the development of closures (doors, hoods, tailgates) with BIW and sheet metal expertise.

The role requires strong DFMEA and APQP knowledge, cross-functional collaboration, and a track record of delivering robust, cost-effective designs. You will conceptualize designs, build 3D models, and coordinate with Design studio, product planning, CME, plant, and supplier teams to meet performance and weight targets.

Qualifications

• Design and development of closure (Door, Hood and Tailgates)
• Experience in BIW and sheet metal design
• Knowledge of DFMEA, APQP and related tools
• Participate in design proposal to address DFMEA failure modes
• Analytical ability and root-cause analysis for build, validation and field failures
• Lead design concepts to 3D models and product design
• Coordinate with Design studio, Product planning, CME, Plant and Supplier teams
• Ensure design meets performance, weight and cost targets

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and implement design, lead the team to convert concepts into 3D models
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for product development
• Manage design reviews and ensure DFMEA actions are closed
• Drive GD&T stack-ups and tolerance analyses
• Support field feedback with root-cause analysis

Job description

• 1.Design and Development of closure ( Door ,Hood and Tailgates)
• 2.Experience in BIW,Sheet metal design,Master Sections.
• 3.Knowledge of Design and Development Tools like APQP, DFMEA, DFA, DFM, DFS, GD&T Stack up and Analysis, DVP&R, IMCR, VA-VE, POKA-YOKE etc.
• 4.Design proposal to take care of all failure modes of DFMEA
• 5.Analytical ability, root cause analysis for resolving the Build & validation, Field failure.
• 6.Design Proposal to meet the specified Performance, weight ,cost etc. with no guidance
• 7.To conceptualize and implement the design and lead the team to convert the concepts into 3D Models and product design.
• 8.Leading discussions with external CFT teams like Design studio, Product planning , CME , Plant teams, Supplier teams etc.
