Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited is seeking an experienced mechanical design engineer to contribute to BIW/Closure/Underbody sheet metal parts from concept through release. You will provide CAD support, model and drawing release with system engineers, and collaborate with internal and external experts to meet project milestones and quality targets in a global automotive program.

The role requires teamwork with design, manufacturing and supply chain teams at our Chennai site, with BIW and body

Qualifications

• Graduate in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering.
• Experience 6 to 9 years in BIW engineering and design.

Responsibilities

• Understand project requirements per program milestones.
• Provide CAD support for engineering proposals with internal and supplier experts.
• Release drawings and models with system engineer.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Support global BIW design requirements for body closures, underbody, and front end.
• Conceptualize, design, and develop BIW/Closure/Underbody sheet metal parts.
• Support CDMM and other teams for part development and quality initiatives.
• Assist in project delivery from kick-off to implementation.

Graduate in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering

Job description

• 1. Understand project requirements as per program milestones. (Any OEM Product development Gateway System)
• 2. Support project delivery related to engineering and design from kick off to implementation, including; QFD, benchmarking, feature analysis, engineering, drawing and model preparation and release, CAE and physical validation support, development and implementation support
• 3. CAD support for engineering proposals preparation in consultation with internal external (Supplier) experts
• 4. Release of drawings and models with system engineer
• 5. Preparation of Bill of material
• 6. Exposure to global requirements for BIW engineering and design (Body side Closures, Underbody and front end)
• 7. Conceptualizing, designing and development of BIW/Closure/Underbody Sheet metal parts
• 8. Support to CDMM and other implementation team for part development and quality initiatives
