Job summary

Refroid Technologies is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer for Product Development to design electrical systems for HVAC and refrigeration products. You will develop wiring diagrams, control panels, perform load calculations, and ensure compliance with IEC/IS/UL standards.

You will collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, procurement, and quality teams to drive NPD, cost optimization, and robust production release while focusing on manufacturability and reliability.

Qualifications

• B.Tech / B.E in Electrical Engineering.
• Hands-on experience in electrical design for product-based manufacturing.
• Experience with control panels, wiring diagrams, and BOM.
• Familiar with IEC/IS/UL safety and standards.
• Certifications in PLC / automation are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and control schematics for HVAC and refrigeration products.
• Develop control panels and electrical layouts for product integration.
• Prepare electrical calculations including load analysis, cable sizing, and protection coordination.
• Support NPD and engineering change management.
• Coordinate with manufacturing during prototype and production releases.

Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated Sr. Electrical Engineer Product Development with hands-on experience in designing and developing electrical systems for manufactured products. The ideal candidate should have worked in a product-based company and possess strong expertise in electrical design, component selection, control panel development, testing, and product validation.

This role will work closely with mechanical design, manufacturing, procurement, and quality teams to develop innovative and cost-effective products from concept through production release.

Key Responsibilities

Product Design & Development

1. Design and develop electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and control schematics for HVAC and refrigeration products.
2. Select electrical components such as contactors, relays, MCBs, transformers, sensors, PLCs, VFDs, and HMI systems.
3. Develop control panels and electrical layouts for product integration.
4. Prepare electrical calculations including load analysis, cable sizing, and protection coordination.
5. Support new product development (NPD) and engineering change management.

Documentation

1. Create and maintain:
2. Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
3. Wiring Schematics
4. Panel Layouts
5. Bills of Materials (BOM)
6. Technical Specifications
7. Test Procedures and Reports
8. User Manuals

Testing & Validation

1. Develop and execute validation and reliability test plans.
2. Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
3. Ensure compliance with electrical safety and performance standards.
4. Coordinate third-party testing and certifications when required.

Manufacturing Support

1. Collaborate with production teams during prototype and pilot builds.
2. Resolve shop-floor electrical issues.
3. Optimize designs for manufacturability and cost reduction.
4. Support vendor development and technical evaluation of components.

Continuous Improvement

1. Drive value engineering and product cost optimization.
2. Recommend design improvements based on field and customer feedback.
3. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry standards.
