Green Engineers in Nagpur, India invites an experienced Senior Design Engineer Electrical to lead electrical design activities for control panels and industrial systems. You will prepare and review GA, SLD, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and ensure IEC, IS compliance while coordinating with production, projects, and service teams.

The role requires 5–8 years in electrical design, Diploma/BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, and proficiency with AutoCAD or EPLAN.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of relevant experience in electrical design and panel engineering.
• Experience in control panel design, electrical estimation/design, or industrial automation preferred.
• Experience in leading or mentoring a design team is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design activities for control panels and industrial electrical systems.
• Prepare and review GA, SLD, wiring, schematic, control circuit, and interconnection drawings.
• Develop and review electrical designs based on customer specifications and project requirements.
• Select appropriate electrical components and prepare accurate BOMs.
• Prepare and review electrical calculations, cable schedules, terminal plans, and engineering documents.
• Ensure designs comply with IEC, IS, and customer-specific standards.
• Coordinate with Production, Projects, Purchase, Sales, and Service/Commissioning teams.
• Review drawings and documents before release for manufacturing.
• Provide technical guidance and support to Design Engineers and junior team members.
• Support panel testing, FAT, commissioning, troubleshooting, and changes.
• Coordinate with customers for technical clarifications and approved design changes.
• Monitor design schedules and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Maintain proper documentation, revision control, and engineering records.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Design Engineer Electrical to lead electrical design activities for control panels and industrial electrical systems. The role will be responsible for preparing and reviewing engineering drawings, selecting components, developing BOMs, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, and coordinating with production, projects, purchase, sales, and commissioning teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review GA, SLD, wiring, schematic, control circuit, and interconnection drawings.
• Develop and review electrical designs based on customer specifications and project requirements.
• Select appropriate electrical components and prepare accurate Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Prepare and review electrical calculations, cable schedules, terminal plans, and engineering documents.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable IEC, IS, and customer-specific standards.
• Coordinate with Production, Projects, Purchase, Sales, and Service/Commissioning teams for smooth execution.
• Review drawings and engineering documents before release for manufacturing.
• Provide technical guidance and support to Design Engineers and junior team members.
• Support panel testing, FAT, commissioning, troubleshooting, and resolution of design-related issues.
• Coordinate with customers for technical clarifications and approved design changes.
• Monitor design schedules and ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables.
• Maintain proper documentation, revision control, and engineering records.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical control panels, switchgear, control circuits, and industrial automation.
• Knowledge of MCB/MCCB, contactors, relays, overloads, VFDs, PLCs, SMPS, control transformers, meters, and related components.
• Good understanding of panel wiring, cable selection, protection systems, earthing, and electrical safety.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar electrical design software.
• Ability to interpret customer specifications, electrical standards, and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of testing, FAT, commissioning, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems.

5. Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma / B.E. / B. Tech in Electrical Engineering.
