Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for systems integrating power electronic drive products. The role involves leading design efforts, creating detailed schematics and layouts, and coordinating with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver robust electrical systems.

Responsibilities include CAD/CAE validation, documentation, and ensuring compliance with IEC/IEEE standards. Willingness to travel within India and abroad may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum BE/B.Tech or MTech in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years hands-on experience in electrical system design and VFD drive design for industries.
• Experience with AC/DC drives, MV VSI/CSI sizing, and vendor coordination.
• Strong knowledge of induction, synchronous, and DC motors; VFD hardware design.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain design documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical interface to customers and suppliers.
• Validate and develop power electronic drive product designs using 3D/2D CAD tools like EPLAN, AutoCAD, SolidWorks.
• Lead cross-functional project teams across Sales, Project, Commissioning and Service.
• Design, standardization and validation of CSI & VSI drives for various domains.
• Produce manufacturing documents such as schematics, layouts, BOMs, labels and cable schedules.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety regulations.

Job Description

Role Summary

• Create and maintain Design documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide Technical interface to the customer and suppliers.
• Validation and development of power electronic drive product design using 3D and 2D CAE tools like Pro-E, eplan P8, Propanel, etc.
• Liaise with cross functional Team, Sales, Project, Commissioning and Service teams.
• Design, standardization & validation of CSI & VSI Drives Controls for different domains application.
• Support electrical panel manufacturing vendors and producing the manufacturing documents like schematics, General arrangement, Parts list, Labels, cable terminals, etc.,
• Experience in handling the Electrical system design, capable of producing plant layout, cable routing, Equipment layout, cable schedule, cable calculation and busbar sizing, etc.,
• Proficiency in CAD/CAE software such as Eplan, AUTOCAD 2D or SolidWorks for creating schematics and layouts.
• Knowledge on electrical codes and standard including IEC, ANSI, NFPA , NEMA, ISA standards related to ensure the system design are safe and compliant.
• Hands an experience in leading the projects in technically.

Essential Responsibilities

• Designing and developing of electrical systems for industrial installation
• Creating detailed schematics, 2D layouts, bill of materials and technical documentation.
• Conducting site survey for upgrade and retrofit project.
• Choosing appropriate electrical components based on technical specification, performance and cost.
• Be part of a multi-disciplined project team, control system development and Validation for different domain projects.
• Establish and maintain contract design documentation.
• Improve the efficiency of the engineering process, through development and use of standard engineering solutions for projects.
• Manage change using the engineering change control system.
• Liaise with other company, customers, suppliers and sub-contractors in order to support the Project execution.
• Adapt Project specific system controls for VSD Application.
• Comply with all company and customer health and safety regulations.
• Lead and execute the projects technically.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum Qualification - BE/B.Tech and or MTech –Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Power electronics engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering.
• Minimum 5 Year hands on experience in Electrical system design and VFD system design for Industries.
• Hands on experience in AC Drives or DC Drives or MV VSI/CSI drive equipment sizing, electrical Components sizing & selection and Vendor Specification & coordination.
• Good knowledge in Induction motor, Synchronous Motor & DC Motors fundamentals,
• Good experience in VFD system hardware control design, Equipment & Plant system integration.
• Good knowledge on IGBT/ Thyristor based VSD systems.
• Good experience in Transformer, Reactor sizing, Testing, specification preparation & validation of vendor documents.
• Good knowledge in cable engineering, electrical components selection, heat loss calculation, & short circuit calculation.
• Capable of working as part of a multi-disciplined international team.
• Ability to multi-task on a variety of projects to strict time scales
• Excellent communication skills report writing skills
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills
• Willing to travel within India and overseas for short term/Long-term working at customer sites/Regional units.
• Work may include extended hours of working during the weekends/holidays during critical times.
