Job summary

Zyeta, an integrated workplace Design & Build firm, seeks a Sr. Design Engineer – FPS & PHE to lead Fire Protection Systems and Public Health Engineering for commercial interiors. You will coordinate with MEP, Architecture, BIM, Project and Site teams to deliver execution-ready designs.

Design responsibilities include hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing and ensuring NBC/NFPA/IS code compliance. Strong BIM coordination and shop-drawing review are essential for successful on-site delivery.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7–10+ years of FPS & PHE design experience, preferably in commercial interiors or workplace fit-outs.
• Strong knowledge of Fire Protection Systems, hydraulics and PHE design standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Fire Protection Systems for commercial offices, including sprinkler, hydrant, and pump layouts.
• Design domestic water supply, drainage, soil/waste and stormwater systems with pipe sizing and hydraulics.
• Coordinate FPS and PHE with HVAC, Electrical, ELV, Civil and Interiors; review BIM models for clashes.
• Review drawings, shop drawings and technical submissions; support BOQ and specs.

About the Role

We are looking for a Sr. Design Engineer – FPS & PHE with strong experience in Fire Protection Systems and Public Health Engineering to lead detailed design, engineering and coordination for commercial interior and workplace projects.

The role involves working closely with MEP, Architecture, Interior Design, BIM, Project and Site teams to deliver technically sound, coordinated and execution-ready designs.

What You Will Do

FPS Design

• Design and develop Fire Protection Systems for commercial office and workplace projects.
• Prepare sprinkler, hydrant, fire pump room and fire-fighting piping layouts.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and system sizing.
• Select and size fire pumps, tanks, valves and related equipment.
• Ensure designs comply with NBC, NFPA, relevant IS Codes and local Fire/CFO requirements.
• Review vendor drawings, technical submittals and shop drawings.

PHE / Plumbing Design

• Design domestic water supply, drainage, soil/waste and stormwater systems.
• Prepare plumbing layouts, riser diagrams and schematics.
• Perform pipe sizing, hydraulic calculations and equipment selection.
• Coordinate plumbing layouts with Architecture, Interiors, Structural and other MEP services.
• Review sanitary fixtures, pumps, tanks and associated equipment.

Design Coordination

• Coordinate FPS and PHE designs with HVAC, Electrical, ELV, Civil and Interior teams.
• Review Revit/BIM models and clash detection.
• Identify design and constructability issues and resolve them before site execution.
• Review and approve design drawings, shop drawings and technical submissions.
• Support BOQ preparation and technical specifications.
• Provide technical support to Project and Site teams during execution.

What We Are Looking For

Education:

B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.

Experience:

7–10+ years of experience in FPS & PHE design, preferably in commercial interiors, workplace fit-outs, corporate Design & Build or similar projects.
