Job summary

Linearloop in India is seeking a detail-oriented QA Engineer (Functional Testing) to own end-to-end testing for assigned projects. You will execute diverse test types, create and review test cases, and collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure product quality.

The role includes basic automation with Playwright or Selenium, API testing with Postman, SQL validation, and WCAG accessibility checks.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of software testing concepts and QA methodologies.
• Hands-on experience in functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and integration testing.
• Experience in writing and reviewing test cases.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of automation testing using Playwright or Selenium.
• Experience with API testing using Postman.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and database testing.
• Basic experience in performance testing using JMeter or k6.
• Understanding of accessibility testing fundamentals and WCAG guidelines.
• Excellent defect reporting and documentation skills.

• Good time management and task tracking using Basecamp or similar project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end functional testing, including smoke, regression, sanity, integration, and exploratory testing.
• Create, maintain, and update comprehensive test cases, test scenarios, and test data.
• Review test cases prepared by team members and provide constructive feedback to ensure quality and coverage.
• Perform basic automation testing using Playwright or Selenium, including maintaining existing automation scripts.
• Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, severity, priority, and supporting evidence.
• Conduct basic API testing using Postman.
• Perform basic database validation to verify backend data integrity.
• Execute basic performance testing using tools such as JMeter or k6.
• Validate applications against basic WCAG accessibility guidelines and report accessibility issues.
• Prepare and share daily, weekly, sprint, and release testing status reports with stakeholders.
• Manage assigned tasks efficiently using Basecamp, maintain accurate timesheets, and ensure timely delivery of testing activities.
• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and project stakeholders to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and blockers, and communicate them to the Project Lead or Manager.
