Job summary

Invoq Loop Insurance Brokers is seeking a detail-oriented QA Engineer (Functional Testing) to own end-to-end testing for assigned projects. You will independently execute testing, ensure product quality, and communicate risks with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include creating test cases, executing exhaustive tests, performing API checks with Postman, and basic automation with Playwright or Selenium. You will collaborate with developers and analysts to deliver high-quality software.

Job Description - QA Engineer (Functional Testing)

Role Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer to take ownership of end-to-end functional testing activities for assigned projects. The ideal candidate should be capable of independently executing testing activities, ensuring product quality, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and proactively identifying and communicating risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end functional testing, including smoke, regression, sanity, integration, and exploratory testing.
• Create, maintain, and update comprehensive test cases, test scenarios, and test data.
• Review test cases prepared by team members and provide constructive feedback to ensure quality and coverage.
• Perform basic automation testing using Playwright or Selenium, including maintaining existing automation scripts where applicable.
• Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, severity, priority, and supporting evidence.
• Conduct basic API testing using Postman.
• Perform basic database validation to verify backend data integrity.
• Execute basic performance testing using tools such as JMeter or k6.
• Validate applications against basic WCAG accessibility guidelines and report accessibility issues.
• Prepare and share daily, weekly, sprint, and release testing status reports with stakeholders.
• Manage assigned tasks efficiently using Basecamp, maintain accurate timesheets, and ensure timely delivery of testing activities.
• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and project stakeholders to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and blockers, and communicate them to the Project Lead or Manager.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of software testing concepts and QA methodologies.
• Hands-on experience in functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and integration testing.
• Experience in writing and reviewing test cases.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of automation testing using Playwright or Selenium.
• Experience with API testing using Postman.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and database testing.
• Basic experience in performance testing using JMeter or k6.
• Understanding of accessibility testing fundamentals and WCAG guidelines.
• Excellent defect reporting and documentation skills.

• Serve as the primary QA for an assigned client project.
• Independently own and deliver all testing activities within the assigned scope.
• Work directly with the Project Lead or Manager to ensure successful project delivery.
• Take ownership of quality, timelines, and proactive communication of risks and blockers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and testing practices.
