Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, system behavior, and application dependencies
- Create risk-based test scenarios covering positive, negative, boundary, integration, and edge-case conditions
- Execute functional, regression, integration, exploratory, API, database, and system testing
- Develop and maintain Selenium and C# automated tests
- Contribute to the planned transition toward Playwright where directed by the QA Lead Engineer
- Review existing automated tests for reliability, maintainability, and meaningful coverage
- Validate application behavior across Azure-native, hybrid, containerized, and legacy components
- Query databases and inspect application outputs to validate data integrity and end-to-end processing
- Investigate test failures and distinguish application defects from environment, data, configuration, or automation issues
- Document defects with clear reproduction steps, evidence, expected results, actual results, severity, and business impact
- Participate in defect triage and root cause analysis
- Retest resolved defects and execute impact-based regression testing
- Support onboarding and knowledge transfer for assigned applications
- Maintain application-level test documentation, known issues, test data guidance, and reusable regression assets
- Report testing progress, blockers, quality risks, and release-readiness observations
- Support KPI data collection, including defect escape rate, test effectiveness, regression coverage, and production defect trends
- Mentor Mid-Level QA Engineers and review test cases or automation contributions
- Participate in monthly reporting, quarterly reviews, and continuous-improvement activities as requested
Job Description
The Senior QA Engineer must be comfortable taking ownership of complex applications with limited supervision. The role requires a combination of technical depth, analytical testing, automation experience, and the ability to communicate risk clearly. Senior QA Engineers will also help elevate the performance of the broader team through mentoring, peer reviews, and reusable testing practices.
