Job summary

HCLTech in Lucknow, India, is seeking an AS400 Operations Specialist to provide L1/L2 support, monitor jobs, and ensure system health in a 24x7 production environment.

You will handle batch scheduling with Robot Scheduler/Robot Network, perform BRMS backups and recoveries, and coordinate with application teams. Strong scripting knowledge and experience with MIMIX will be valuable.

Responsibilities

Job Description

1. Provide L1 and L2 support for AS400 (IBM i) Operations and Administration, including job monitoring, basic troubleshooting, incident resolution, and system health checks.
2. Monitor and manage batch workloads using Robot Scheduler/Robot Network, ensuring timely job execution, dependency management, and schedule adherence.
3. Perform BRMS backup and recovery operations, including backup monitoring, validation, issue resolution, handling restore requests, and coordinating with application support teams when required.
4. Manage and resolve ServiceNow Incidents, SCTASKs, and CTASKs, ensuring SLA compliance, accurate documentation, and timely updates.
5. Execute timely escalations, maintain operational logs, and provide support for a 24x7 production environment following established operational procedures.
6. Monitor and handle MIMIX and Robot alerts, perform spool file validation, and ensure continuous production support through shift-based operations while meeting SLA requirements.
7. Support AS400 administration automation initiatives, including automation development, troubleshooting, process improvement, and operational efficiency enhancements.
8. Possess working knowledge of AS400 development/coding and scripting concepts to support troubleshooting and automation activities.
