Job summary

Accendra Health is hiring for the position of Analyst AS400 Operations, focused on developing and documenting batch job processes while also managing their execution. This high-level role entails working with IBM System iSeries and requires strong troubleshooting skills and effective communication.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years working as a Datacenter Operator and possess excellent attention to detail. Successful applicants will be ready to work in 24X7 shifts from the office.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Datacenter Operator with IBM System iSeries.
• Proficient in IBM BRMS Tape Management for at least 2 years.
• Ability to develop job schedules and delegate tasks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and document batch job processes.
• Launch and monitor batch processes and manage data restoration using BRMS.
• Coordinate with applications and development teams.

Skills

Experience with iSeries operations including BRMS and Advanced Job Scheduler

Our innovative company is looking to fill the role of Analyst AS400 Operations. Day‑to‑day activities include developing and documenting batch job processes, launching and monitoring batch processes, data restoration using BRMS (System i), maintaining high operational uptime and stringent SLAs through timely batch processing and request management, coordinating with applications and development teams as well as other operational and project‑based tasks, mentoring teammates and developing KPIs and operational standards. This is a high‑level position.

Essential Job Functions

• Experience with iSeries operations including BRMS and Advanced Job Scheduler
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Verify turnover between shifts are transitioned wholly and in detail
• Daily communications and updates with all shifts
• Understanding of Backup and Recovery (BRMS)
• Hands on experience on MIMIX/iCluster
• Effective and clear communications both verbal and written with IT and business users
• Daily interaction with the Midrange Systems group
• Publish daily activity and problem logs
• Strong attention to detail required to start nightly batch processing, monitor the progress, finish cleanup tasks and convey status as required
• Execute tasks required for backup and recovery operations (tape setup and mounting activities, tape post processing and dismounting activities) including both physical and virtual tape
• Document issues and escalations to the appropriate support groups
• Work with third party tape management and inventory solutions
• Hands on experience using the iSeries command line using HMC
• Manage offsite tape inventory (Iron Mountain)
• Audit offsite tape invoices and engage vendor as/if necessary

• Clear and concise communications are both written and verbal
