Job summary

TecQubes Technologies is seeking a Mainframes Iseries Automation Specialist to develop and maintain automation scripts, support scheduling platforms, and automate routine tasks. You will create monitoring and alerting solutions, assist with event-driven automation, and contribute to efficiency projects.

The role requires 5–8 years of IBM i administration with 2–4 years in automation and scheduling, along with knowledge of Windows Server, VMware ESX, and cloud migrations.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of IBM i administration experience with 2-4 years in automation and job scheduling environments.
• Strong knowledge of IBM i administration, DB2/400, job scheduling, monitoring, and system operations.
• Experience with CL, RPG, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Python, YAML, and PHP development and scripting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with event-driven automation initiatives.

• Participate in operational efficiency projects.

• Document automation standards and procedures.

• Support integration with enterprise management tools.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 5-8 years of IBM i (iSeries) administration experience with 2-4 years in automation and job scheduling environments.
• Strong knowledge of IBM i administration, DB2/400, job scheduling, monitoring, and system operations.
• Experience with CL, RPG, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Python, YAML, and PHP development and scripting.
• Proficiency with GitHub, automation frameworks, API integrations, troubleshooting, and debugging.
• Experience supporting production environments and operational automation initiatives.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019, VMware ESX, and public/private cloud environments, including on-premises to cloud migrations.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Experience with automation tools and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
• Knowledge of vulnerability management, security controls, and compliance standards.
• Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience supporting mission-critical enterprise environments with a focus on automation and operational excellence.
