Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position for a Special Education Teacher at Unison World School, located in Dehradun. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for providing tailored instruction to students with varying abilities, specifically addressing individual educational and developmental needs. Day-to-day tasks include designing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), working closely with middle school-aged students managing disabilities, ensuring academic and emotional growth, and collaborating with other teachers, counselors, and parents to create a structured and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field from a recognised Institution.
• B.Ed. in Special Education (compulsory).
• Minimum 5 years of full-time experience in Special Education.
• Prior experience in a residential school setting would be preferred.
• Experience and expertise in Special Education, including working with students with disabilities.
• Strong Teaching skills with emphasis on middle school education and adapting curriculum to meet diverse learning needs.
• Effective Communication skills to collaborate with students, parents, and staff, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
• Knowledge of Individualised Education Programs (IEPs) development and implementation is preferred.
• Ability to apply patience, empathy, and creativity in teaching methodologies.

Compensation

Salary shall be as per 7th Pay Commission (CTC range between Rs. 65,000 to Rs. 1,02,000) along with benefits such as:
