• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
• 4+ years of hands-on project management experience in renewable energy, specifically solar projects.
• PMP or NABCEP certification is strongly preferred.

We are seeking an experienced Solar Project Manager to oversee the complete lifecycle of our solar photovoltaic (PV) projectsfrom initial design and procurement through construction, commissioning, and grid interconnection. In this role, you will lead cross-functional teams, manage subcontractor relationships, ensure compliance with local and national regulations, and deliver high-performance solar installations on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Execution

• Lifecycle Management: Direct commercial, industrial, or utility-scale solar projects from site handoff to final handover.
  
• Scheduling & Budgeting: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules (Gantt charts), work breakdown structures (WBS), and project budgets; track financial progress and variance.
  
• Resource Allocation: Coordinate internal engineering, procurement, safety, and field teams alongside external subcontractors and suppliers.
  

2. Engineering, Procurement & Permitting

• Technical Oversight: Review engineering drawing packages (SLDs, site layouts, civil/electrical designs) in collaboration with the engineering team.
  
• Procurement: Coordinate major equipment deliveries (modules, inverters, racking/trackers, transformers) to align with construction milestones.
  
• Permitting & Interconnection: Navigate local zoning, environmental permits, building permits, and utility interconnection agreements.
  

3. Construction & Quality Assurance

• Site Supervision: Conduct regular site visits to monitor build quality, adherence to specifications, and compliance with national electrical codes (NEC) and local building standards.
  
• Safety Compliance: Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines across all job sites.
  
• Commissioning: Lead testing, quality assurance checks, utility inspections, and system energization.
  

4. Stakeholder & Risk Management

• Client & Executive Reporting: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, property owners, local authorities, and executive leadership, providing clear updates on milestones and risks.
  
• Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify project risks (supply chain delays, weather disruptions, site constraints) and implement contingency plans.
  
• Contract Administration: Manage subcontractor agreements, scope changes, purchase orders, and change orders.
  

Required Qualifications & Skills

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
  
• Experience: 4+ years of hands-on project management experience in the renewable energy sector, specifically leading commercial, industrial (C&I), or utility-scale solar projects.
  
• Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) certification is strongly preferred.
  

Technical & Professional Competencies

• Thorough understanding of solar PV system design, stringing, inverters, balance of system (BOS), and medium-voltage electrical systems.
  
• Familiarity with local electrical codes, OSHA safety regulations, and utility interconnection processes.
  
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, Procore, Smartsheet) and basic AutoCAD / Helioscope review capabilities.
  
• Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor selection skills.
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams.
