Job summary

Palladium The Club is seeking a Solar Design Engineer to lead electrical layout reviews, SLDs, and component selections for residential, commercial, or utility-scale solar projects in Kerala. You will collaborate across teams to ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

The role requires 3+ years in Solar EPC or renewable energy, deep PV knowledge, and proficiency with PVsyst, Helioscope, and AutoCAD, plus a strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3+ years core experience in Solar EPC or renewable energy.
• Deep knowledge of solar PV tech, power evacuation systems, net metering regulations, testing/commissioning.
• Hands-on experience with solar design software PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD.
• High proficiency in using AI platforms to automate tasks and documentations.

Responsibilities

Role & responsibilities

• Solar System Design: Create and review comprehensive electrical layouts, SLDs (Single Line Diagrams), string sizing, inverter selections, and cable layouts for residential, commercial, or utility-scale solar projects.
• Project Execution: Oversee site surveys, technical feasibility studies, and on-site engineering execution to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• AI & Workflow Automation: Integrate AI tools (such as ChatGPT, specialized engineering tools, or automated reporting software) to optimize project documentation, data analysis, drafting emails, and managing daily operational tasks.
• Procurement Support: Collaborate with vendors to review technical specifications of solar components, evaluate quotes, and select cost-effective, high-quality materials.
• Client & Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary technical point of contact, delivering clear project updates, technical presentations, and solutions to clients, partners, and grid authorities.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of core experience in the Solar EPC sector or renewable energy industry.
• Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of solar PV tech, power evacuation systems, net metering regulations, and testing/commissioning procedures.
• Software Proficiency: Hands‑on experience with solar design software (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD).
• AI Tech Literacy: High proficiency in using AI platforms to automate repetitive tasks, analyze data, and accelerate technical documentation.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills with a proven ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
