Job summary

Hexatron Industries is seeking a Solar Electrical Design Engineer / Senior Engineer to support design and engineering activities for Solar EPC projects. You will prepare, review and validate electrical designs, SLDs, GA layouts, and equipment specifications to ensure conformance with project requirements and applicable standards.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech/ Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 3–5 years in Solar EPC projects.
• Experience in reviewing electrical drawings and equipment specifications.
• Hands-on with AutoCAD and understanding of SLD/GA layouts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and validate electrical designs and drawings for Solar PV projects.
• Prepare and review Single Line Diagrams (SLD) for LT, HT and grid-interconnection systems.
• Review GA layouts, electrical layouts, equipment layouts and cable routing for solar projects.
• Perform technical review of 11kV / 33kV electrical systems.
• Review electrical equipment selection based on project specs and system requirements.
• Review and verify GTPs of electrical equipment.
• Review vendor drawings, datasheets and engineering calculations.
• Coordinate with equipment vendors for clarifications and revisions.
• Review equipment ratings and specifications for transformers, HT/LT panels, switchgear, cables, protection systems.
• Review cable sizing, voltage drop and short-circuit levels.
• Coordinate with Civil, Structural, SCADA, Procurement, Construction and Project teams.
• Ensure compliance with IS/IEC/IEEE standards and project specs.
• Support preparation of Technical Submittals, BOQ/MTO and engineering documentation.
• Participate in client/consultant discussions and close review comments.
• Provide design-related technical support to site teams and ensure proper revision control.

Job Description Solar Electrical Design Engineer / Senior Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Solar Electrical Design Engineer / Senior Engineer to support the design and engineering activities of Solar EPC projects.

The candidate will be responsible for preparing, reviewing and validating electrical designs, SLDs, GA layouts, equipment specifications, vendor drawings and technical documents, ensuring compliance with project requirements, applicable standards and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review and validate electrical engineering designs and drawings for Solar PV projects.
• Prepare and review Single Line Diagrams (SLD) for LT, HT and grid-interconnection systems.
• Review GA layouts, electrical layouts, equipment layouts and cable routing for solar projects.
• Perform technical review of 11kV / 33kV electrical systems.
• Review electrical equipment selection based on project specifications and system requirements.
• Review and verify GTPs (General Technical Particulars) of electrical equipment.
• Review vendor drawings, datasheets, technical specifications and engineering calculations.
• Coordinate with equipment vendors for technical clarifications and drawing revisions.
• Review equipment ratings and specifications for Transformers, HT/LT Panels, RMU/VCB, Switchgear, Inverters, Cables, CT/PT and Protection Systems.
• Review cable sizing, voltage drop, short-circuit levels and other electrical system parameters as applicable.
• Coordinate with Civil, Structural, SCADA, Procurement, Construction and Project teams for engineering interfaces.
• Ensure engineering deliverables comply with approved project specifications and applicable IS/IEC/IEEE standards.
• Support preparation and review of Technical Submittals, BOQ/MTO and engineering documentation.
• Participate in technical discussions with clients, consultants, EPC teams and vendors.
• Track engineering comments and ensure timely closure of client/consultant review comments.
• Provide design-related technical support to site teams and resolve engineering queries.
• Maintain proper revision control and engineering documentation.

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Solar PV electrical systems and Solar EPC projects.
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD.
• Good understanding of SLD and GA Layout review.
• Knowledge of 11kV and 33kV systems.
• Experience in GTP verification and electrical equipment selection.
• Experience in vendor drawing and technical document review.
• Good understanding of HT/LT electrical systems, transformers, switchgear, protection and cable systems.
• Knowledge of relevant IS/IEC/IEEE standards.
• Ability to understand electrical specifications, datasheets and technical calculations.
• Good coordination and communication skills.

Preferred Experience:

Candidates with experience in Utility-scale Solar EPC / Solar Power Plant / Renewable Energy projects, particularly in electrical design and engineering, will be preferred.

Candidate Profile:

B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 3–5 years of relevant Solar Industry experience, having strong exposure to electrical design and engineering activities in Solar EPC projects and the ability to independently review drawings, technical documents and electrical equipment specifications.
