Job summary

PTC is seeking a senior Java architect to lead the design, development, and maintenance of secure, scalable software solutions. You will mentor teams, shape development practices, and drive innovative concepts impacting our future products.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of server-side Java experience, strong architecture skills, and familiarity with CI/CD, Git, Windchill, and AI tooling. You will collaborate with executives and customers, ensuring high-quality outcomes and automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or equivalent experience in software development.
• 10+ years of server-side Java development experience.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, design principles, and coding standards.
• Experience mentoring junior developers and guiding teams toward best practices.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and version control systems like Git.
• Knowledge of Windchill PLM and AI tooling is a strong advantage.
• Excellent communication, technical leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Exhibits advanced wide-ranging experience, using in-depth professional knowledge, acumen, concepts and company objectives to develop, resolve complex models and procedures. Provides solutions to issues in creative and effective ways. Understands the interrelationships of different disciplines. Required Skills And Knowledge

Education: Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience in software development.

Experience: 10+ years of experience in server-side programming with Java. Expertise in Java, J2EE, SQL, and a passion for clean, efficient, and maintainable code

• Strong knowledge of software architecture, design principles, and coding standards, with a focus on scalability and security. Proven ability to mentor junior developers and guide teams toward best practices.
• Extensive experience interacting with executive-level stakeholders (VP, SVP) and customers.
• Knowledge of PLM software, particularly Windchill and AI Tooling, is a strong advantage.
• Application Security understanding and implementable architecture solutions.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems like GIT.
• Excellent communication, technical leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Document technical designs, code, and other project deliverables to ensure high-quality communication across the organization.
• Extensive experience interacting with stakeholders (Directors, VP of TPM, PM and Development) and customers.

• Provide technical leadership to teams, mentoring and coaching junior staff and influencing development practices across the organization.
• Drive innovative concepts, products, and solutions that directly impact the future direction of the company.
• Participate in code reviews and other quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with the highest technical standards.
• Document technical designs, code, and other project deliverables to ensure high-quality communication across the organization.
• Communicate effectively with senior leaders, external partners, and customers to ensure alignment and promote the organization’s thought leadership in the field.
• Collaborate on achieving 100% automation in development processes. Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and industry developments to ensure that products remain at the forefront of innovation.
