Job summary

PTC in Gurugram (India) is seeking a passionate Software Engineer to join the Warranty and Contract Management team. You will contribute to ongoing maintenance, product development, and patch releases for the WCM solution, working in an R&D and Support environment.

The role requires 3–5 years of hands-on Java/J2EE experience, familiarity with MVC frameworks, and strong problem-solving abilities. You will collaborate across teams to deliver high-quality software and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of software development experience expected in the role.
• Strong Java/J2EE development skills with web applications.
• Experience with MVC-based frameworks (Hibernate/Spring/Struts) and JavaScript.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and write clean code.

Responsibilities

• Create technical specifications and designs for development.
• Develop, test, and maintain Java/J2EE applications.
• Code and modify Java programs, EJBs, DAOs, JSPs, JavaScript components.
• Perform unit and integration testing to ensure quality.

PTC Warranty (Warranty and Contract Management) is industry leading warranty solution that helps OEMs to significantly reduce product warranty costs by improving quality and reliability, sharing cost and information with suppliers and partners, and automating the warranty management process. WCM is looking for a passionate, creative, motivated Software Engineer to join our team. In this position, you will enjoy a challenging role in the R&D and Support organization working on ongoing maintenance of WCM solution; this includes product development, issue resolution, managing the releases of patches to our customers.

Description of the role

Develops, writes and implements software programming applications. Supports and/or installs software applications. Participates in maintenance and troubleshooting activities. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Typically requires 5-7 years of experience including a demonstrated ability to complete assignments with high quality and on time. Has experience with concepts, practices, and procedures commonly used within the software development field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Follows disciplined software development practices. Has the capability of completing assigned tasks with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Create technical specifications and designs that form the basis for code created during the development phase
• Design, Develop and test a set of requirements or features meeting the defined specifications
• Code and maintain programs, forms, interfaces
• Create and/or modify Java programs, EJBs, Data access objects, JSPs, JavaScripts from detailed design
• Conducts unit testing and integration testing for the functionality

Qualifications and Required skills

• Must have Skills
  • Experience in using Java, J2EE IDE based on eClipse
  • Knowledge of Oracle / MS SQL Server.
  • Experience with MVC-based web application frameworks (Hibernate / Spring /Struts) and Java Script.
  • Extensive experience developing multi-tiered web-based applications in Java (J2EE)
  • Ability to analyze, translate, and define business requirements into technical solutions
  • Fluent in Object Oriented Design and Programming Techniques
  • Good aptitude, Communication and interpersonal skills
• Good to have skills
  • Understanding of Data warehouse Concepts, ETLs and Reporting tools
  • Knowledge of Bootstrap, JQuery and HTML5.
