We are seeking a skilledSnowflake Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and supporting enterprisedata solutions on the Snowflake platform. This role involves building scalabledata pipelines, developing metadata-driven frameworks, automating databasedeployments, and supporting production environments. The successful candidatewill possess strong troubleshooting skills, be comfortable working across bothapplication and database administration domains, and consistently producewell-documented, maintainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Snowflake Engineering & Development
- Design, develop, and maintainrobust data solutions using Snowflake.
- Develop and support databaseobjects including tables, views, streams, tasks, stored procedures, and dynamicSQL frameworks.
- Build scalable and performantETL/ELT pipelines for data integration and analytics workloads.
- Optimize Snowflake queryperformance, storage utilization, and compute efficiency.
- Implement metadata-driven andconfiguration-based data processing frameworks.
Database Administration & Scripting
- Develop, support, and maintaindatabase administration scripts for operational and support activities.
- Create automation scripts fordatabase monitoring, housekeeping, deployments, validations, and health checks.
- Assist with Snowflake platformadministration activities, including role management, access controls,warehouse management, and object security.
- Support operational automationacross development, test, and production environments.
- Support Amazon AuroraPostgreSQL operational activities, including connectivity validation,performance troubleshooting, access coordination, and environment support.
Database Deployment & Release Management
- Utilize Liquibase forsource-controlled database deployments and schema migrations.
- Develop and maintaindeployment scripts and release automation processes.
- Ensure database changes areproperly version-controlled, tested, and promoted through environments.
- Partner with development andoperations teams to establish deployment standards and best practices.
Data Engineering & Operational Support
- Develop efficient dataingestion, transformation, and validation processes.
- Design, develop, and supportAWS Glue jobs and workflows for data ingestion, transformation, cataloging, andorchestration across cloud and enterprise data platforms.
- Work with Amazon S3 for datalanding, staging, archival, file organization, access patterns, and integrationwith Snowflake and AWS Glue pipelines.
- Support AWS Database MigrationService (AWS DMS) tasks for data replication, migration, validation,monitoring, and issue resolution across source and target platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolveissues related to data pipelines, database performance, and applicationintegrations.
- Perform root cause analysisand implement corrective actions for recurring issues.
- Monitor data loads, dataquality processes, and platform performance to ensure reliability andavailability.
- Support production incidentmanagement and operational escalations.
Software Engineering & Documentation
- Write clean, maintainable, andsupportable code following engineering best practices.
- Design solutions withlong-term maintenance, observability, and troubleshooting requirements in mind.
- Implement appropriate logging,exception handling, auditing, and monitoring capabilities.
- Produce comprehensivetechnical documentation for all solutions, processes, and deployments.
- Create and maintainoperational runbooks, troubleshooting guides, architectural documentation, andknowledge transfer materials.
- Ensure all code deliveries aresupplemented with proper and abundant documentation to support futuremaintenance and operational activities.
System Integration & DevOps
- Support CI/CD processes fordatabase and data engineering solutions.
- Utilize GitHub for source codemanagement, version control, and collaboration.
- Collaborate with applicationdevelopment, infrastructure, and data teams to deliver integrated enterprisesolutions.
- Integrate Snowflake solutionswith AWS services, including AWS Glue, Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, Amazon S3, andAWS DMS, to support scalable enterprise data processing and interoperability.
- Participate in code reviews,deployment reviews, and technical design discussions.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of relevantdata engineering experience, including hands-on work with cloud data platformsand production data environments.
- Strong hands-on workingexperience with Snowflake development and administration.
- Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries and Snowflake stored procedures.
- Hands-on proficiency with AWS Glue for ETL development, workflow orchestration, job monitoring, andtroubleshooting.
- Experience developing databaseand application support scripts.
- Experience working with AmazonAurora PostgreSQL, including SQL development, integration support, operationaltroubleshooting, and performance analysis.
- Experience working with AmazonS3 for storage, ingestion, staging, and integration with cloud-native datapipelines.
- Experience with AWS DMS fordatabase migration, change data capture, replication monitoring, andtroubleshooting.
