Position Title: Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Safety (EHS)

Position Summary

The Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Safety (EHS) will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering industry-aligned Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) learning programs for engineering institutions and enterprise customers. The role involves creating high-quality technical content, delivering expert sessions, supporting curriculum development, and ensuring learning programs reflect current industry standards and regulatory requirements.

In addition to academic responsibilities, the incumbent will actively engage with academic institutions, faculty members, and customers to understand their skilling requirements, recommend suitable learning solutions, and support the successful implementation of safety programs. The role is best suited for enthusiastic professionals who enjoy combining technical expertise with customer interaction and knowledge sharing.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Development & Academic Excellence

• Develop and enhance industry-relevant learning content covering Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Industrial Safety.
• Design presentations, reading materials, case studies, practical exercises, assessments, and question banks aligned with learning objectives.
• Create project-based learning activities and real-world safety scenarios to improve learner engagement.
• Review and continuously update course content based on evolving regulations, industry practices, and emerging technologies.

Training & Technical Delivery

• Deliver instructor-led classroom, virtual (VILT), and blended learning programs for engineering students, faculty members, and professionals.
• Conduct practical demonstrations, workshops, and technical sessions to enhance learner understanding.
• Mentor learners through project reviews, technical discussions, and assessment evaluations.
• Support Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) and Train-the-Trainer (TTT) initiatives whenever required.

Customer Engagement & Academic Solutioning

• Interact with engineering colleges, universities, and enterprise customers to understand their technical skilling requirements.
• Support customer discussions by recommending suitable Safety and EHS learning solutions aligned with institutional and industry needs.
• Participate in curriculum discussions, academic meetings, workshops, webinars, and customer presentations.
• Collaborate with Business Development and Customer Success teams to ensure successful implementation of customer-specific learning programs.
• Act as a technical advisor during customer interactions by providing subject matter expertise and academic guidance.

Academic Collaboration

• Work closely with Content, Product, Delivery, Assessment, and Operations teams to ensure effective program execution.
• Contribute to curriculum enhancement by integrating industry best practices, compliance requirements, and practical applications.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance learner engagement and overall program effectiveness.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in Industrial Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, and regulatory compliance.
• Recommend improvements to curriculum based on industry trends, technological advancements, and changing compliance frameworks.
• Promote experiential learning through simulations, case studies, industry projects, and practical demonstrations.

Functional Expertise

Strong understanding of one or more of the following areas such as Safety Audits & Compliance, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, etc.

Educational Qualifications:

• M.E/M.Tech in Safety Engineering
• NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent certifications will be an added advantage.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Passion for teaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
• Strong customer engagement and relationship-building ability.
