Job summary

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Safety Engineering, or a related field.
  • Post Diploma in Industrial Safety (PDIS) preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of factory safety, environmental and statutory regulations.
  • Good communication and training abilities; strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office, SAP, and ISO 14001 documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead EHS activities across Harohalli facilities and ensure compliance.
  • Implement safety management systems (PTW, LOTO, audits).
  • Coordinate with regulators and maintain documentation.
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety inspections.
  • Deliver induction and refresher safety trainings.
  • Monitor ETP operations and environmental compliance.

Job description

Position Summary

We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented Safety Executive / Senior Safety Officer to lead Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (EHS) activities across our Harohalli manufacturing facilities located at KIADB Industrial Area. The position reports to the General Manager Technical.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and monitor safety management systems including Permit to Work (PTW), Lockout-Tagout (LOTO), planned inspections, electrical safety audits, fire safety audits, and other statutory safety programs.
  • Collaborate with managers, employees, and contractors to promote a strong safety culture and safe working practices across all facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health, industrial hygiene, fire safety, hazardous material handling, storage, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to ensure machinery, equipment, and work practices comply with applicable legal and safety requirements.
  • Conduct induction and refresher training programs for employees, contractors, and new joiners to promote safe work practices.
  • Oversee the operation and compliance of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) in coordination with the Utilities Team, ensuring treated water quality meets regulatory standards.
  • Maintain ETP-related documentation, laboratory records, sludge disposal, hazardous waste management, treated water records, and other environmental compliance requirements in line with ISO 14001 and Pollution Control Board regulations.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities including the Pollution Control Board, Factory Inspectorate, Ground Water Authority, Fire Department, and other statutory bodies for approvals, inspections, audits, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain records of incidents, near misses, injuries, unsafe conditions, and corrective actions. Conduct incident investigations and recommend preventive measures.
  • Coordinate periodic inspection, testing, and certification of pressure vessels, safety valves, fire extinguishers, hydrant systems, ambulances, first-aid facilities, and Occupational Health Centre (OHC) equipment.
  • Plan and conduct mock drills, emergency response exercises, and evacuation drills to ensure preparedness and effectiveness of emergency management systems.
  • Ensure timely updating of EHS compliance documentation and statutory records in the company's legal compliance portal.
  • Support implementation and continual improvement of EHS management systems and sustainability initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Safety Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Post Diploma in Industrial Safety (PDIS) preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in EHS functions within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of applicable factory safety, environmental, and statutory regulations.
  • Strong communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, SAP, compliance documentation & ISO 14001
  • Self-driven team player with a proactive approach to learning, implementation, and employee engagement.
