Job summary

Murugappa Water Technology And Solutions in Uttar Pradesh is seeking an experienced EHS/Safety professional to implement and maintain our safety and environmental management systems at active projects.

You will conduct safety inspections, manage PTW, lead risk assessments including JSA, handle chemical safety, emergency preparedness, and incident investigations, while delivering inductions and trainings.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, Industrial Safety or related field.
  • 3-6 years of EHS/Safety experience in Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants, Industrial Plants, Process Industries, or EPC projects.
  • Knowledge of EHS regulations and ISO 45001/ISO 14001 management systems.
  • Hands-on PTW, JSA, risk assessment, LOTO, confined space entry, hot work, and work at height.
  • Experience in chemical safety management, emergency preparedness, incident investigation, and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, audits, inspections, and training.
  • Strong knowledge of PPE, fire safety systems, first aid, and emergency response.
  • Good documentation, reporting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; preparation of EHS reports.
  • Certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent is an added advantage.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites in a site-based environment.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain EHS management systems in compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments (JSA), hazard ID, and corrective actions.
  • Manage PTW system including Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, LOTO, Work at Height, Excavation, Chemical Handling.
  • Ensure safe handling, storage, and usage of chemicals with labeling, SDS, spill prevention, PPE adherence.
  • Monitor PPE compliance, maintain inventory, and recommend protective equipment.
  • Develop emergency response plans, coordinate mock drills, and ensure readiness of firefighting equipment.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; perform root cause analysis and track actions.
  • Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training on EHS topics.
  • Ensure environmental compliance through waste management and monitoring of noise, dust, and wastewater.
  • Perform safety inspections of plant equipment, utilities, electrical systems, and work areas.
  • Maintain EHS documentation including safety reports, PTW records, audit reports, training records, and incident reports.
  • Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure compliance with site safety procedures and permit requirements.
  • Support internal/external EHS audits and liaise with regulatory authorities.

Preferred candidate profile :
  • Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, Industrial Safety, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3-6 years of EHS/Safety experience in Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants, Industrial Plants, Process Industries, or EPC projects.
  • Sound knowledge of EHS regulations, statutory compliance, and ISO 45001/ISO 14001 management systems.
  • Hands-on experience in Permit to Work (PTW), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessment, LOTO, Confined Space Entry, Hot Work, and Work at Height.
  • Experience in chemical safety management, emergency preparedness, incident investigation, and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, audits, inspections, and employee/contractor safety training.
  • Strong knowledge of PPE requirements, fire safety systems, first aid, and emergency response procedures.
  • Good documentation, reporting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and preparation of EHS reports.
  • Certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, Diploma in Industrial Safety, or other recognized Safety qualifications will be an added advantage.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and work in a project/site-based environment.
